Electrical wiring is an electrical installation of cabling and associated devices such as switches, distribution boards, sockets, and light fittings in a structure.
Wiring is subject to safety standards for design and installation. Allowable wire and cable types and sizes are specified according to the circuit operating voltage and electric current capability, with further restrictions on the environmental conditions, such as ambient temperature range, moisture levels, and exposure to sunlight and chemicals.
Associated circuit protection, control and distribution devices within a building's wiring system are subject to voltage, current and functional specification. Wiring safety codes vary by locality, country or region. The International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) is attempting to harmonise wiring standards amongst member countries, but significant variations in design and installation requirements still exist.

can't call company's tech support because they are closed and I'm going out of town in 8 hours and don't want to come back to a pile of ash where my house use to be.
When installing the light , I'm suppose to connect single provided black to black...
Electricity (the flow of current) is said to travel at near the speed of light (75-90%), but I read that electrons have a drift velocity of only 2-3 mm/hr or something close to that. So, if the electrons are so slow, should I think it is the holes that travel fast? Suggestions.
Alright I need help. I am not electrically inclined so figure this is the best place I could have come. I'll make this as simple as possible.
I have:
1 Red 5 mm LED with specs 2.6V - 28mA * 10mcd
1 Green 5mm LED with specs 2.1VDC - 25mA - 6.3mcd
9V battery as source
What I need.

Hi, everyone I am new around here and was wondering if anybody could answer some basic questions for me?
1. I was wondering how you would make an electrical connection or for example a direct connect from a battery to switch the electrons to be only negative or only positive.
2. If you...
Is this a correct way to wire a DPDT toggle switch so that you can run current through two identical resistance heaters either in parallel or in series (or not at all, so that you have off/half/full power)?

So I am wiring up a H-bridge for a small electric motor for a robotics project and am a little confused.
This is the only schematic that I can find for this H-bridge.

There is a pdf on that site that is...
I am trying to control a 110V fan with a low voltage thermostat. I am pretty new to electrical theory... I would like a basic description of what I need and how to properly wire it. Thanks!
All,
I am just about fed up with whomever was contracted to do my house's electrical rough in. I have, since moving in, been going through the process of replacing all of the 1960's era outlets and switches. No problem, right? Wrong. Every single switch and outlet has absolutely ZERO slack in...
Newbie wiring 20 red LEDs to a 9v battery in parallel...help pls :)
hello,
i am completely new to the LED world and electronics world. I am wanting to make a little box with LED lights as an aniversary gift. Basically what I need to know is how to wire 20 red LEDs in parallel so that they...
Hello there,
I am working on a project in which I would like to place some "rope lighting" on a mechanic's creeper and rig it so that when the head-rest is in the up position the lights turn on. Its not so much a functionality project, but more of an experiment and learning experience in...
Hi I have just received a high density electrocap for recording eeg -signals and discovered that the cable that leads to the electrodes is not shielded.
Does this probably corrupt the signal?

An almond-shaped cluster of neurons. So, is this why people are nuts?
How do, everyone. I'm 99% done with my HW set for this week and am stuck on this problem.
Three resistors are connected in series across a battery. The value of each resistance and its maximum power rating are as follows: 5.0 Ohms and 19.5 W, 32.0 Ohms and 10.0 W, and 15.0 Ohms and 10.0 W...
Hi,
I have a 230V to 2x12V (2.3VA) transformer. There are 4 pins in the secondary coil 0(a)-12(a)-0(b)-12(b). When I measure the voltage across 0(a) and 12(a), I get about 23+VAC.
I shorted 12(a) to 0(b) and measured 14VAC across 0(a) and 12(b).
I connected a W05 bridge rectifier and...
Hello,
the other day I got an hour meter to help me keep track of the amp hours I have put into my circuit, but I am not too sure how to hook it up.
it came with a page of instructions giving a few diagrams on how to connect it, the only 2 that made sense for my application of it was to either...
I am rewiring my old house (35+ years old) that had non-grounded aluminum wiring (very dangerous!) with good ol' copper/grounded wiring. I have four rooms done and in each room I have put in wall outlets that go to a switch by the door. When I finished the rooms, I used my circuit tester to...
