will copper wire wrapped around insulated copper wire induce a current to some degree? and if electricity is flowing through the wire of witch the copper is wrapped around will it induce current in the wrapped wire?
crockman1 said:whoops i meant to say: if there is current running through the outside wire will it make make a current in the wire its wrapped around? i think what you said means that there will be a current induced in the core wire in the direction of the current in the wire that is wrapped around it, and running a single wire on the outside will do the same thing? will a current in the core wire produce current in the outer wind/ skin? what if i wrap foil around an insulated core and run electricity through it? the core?

Wire wrapping is a jewelry making technique that involves wrapping wire tightly around a base material, such as copper, in a specific pattern to create a decorative design.
Copper is a popular choice for wire wrapping because it is a soft and malleable metal, making it easy to manipulate and bend into desired shapes. It also has good conductivity, making it a practical choice for electronic components.
Wire wrapping offers several advantages over soldering, including the ability to create intricate and unique designs, as well as the ability to easily make adjustments or repairs to the wire. Additionally, wire wrapping does not require the use of heat, making it a safer option for delicate materials.
Yes, wire wrapping can affect the conductivity of copper. When wire is wrapped tightly around a copper wire, it can cause tiny fractures in the metal, which can decrease its conductivity. However, this can be mitigated by using a thicker gauge wire or making sure the wrapping is not too tight.
Wire wrapped copper is commonly used in jewelry making, as well as in electronics for creating connections between components. It can also be used for decorative purposes, such as wire sculpture or wire wrapped gemstones.
